The gifts of the Spirit are not always well understood or well integrated into the life of the Church. There is need for deeper theological and pastoral reflection on the role of charisms and how to discern, guide, and foster their use for the good of all.

In response to this need, an international colloquium on charisms was organized in 2008 by International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS) and the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships (CFCCCF), in collaboration with the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

This book represents the fruit of that event. It draws on many years of experience of theologians, priests, and lay leaders to reflect on charisms from biblical, theological, historical, and pastoral perspectives.
